Electro-Harmonix is a brand that i find schizophrenic and manic depressive. Part of the designs are top notch with great tones/sounds, another part is just dull and one part makes me wonder if the designer was drunk at the time. The good ones are good. The rest.. Well. For collectors EHX is an evil brand. There are no clear series like for many other manufacturers and to understand all the series and history takes a lot of effort. The catalog from 60’s to today is rather messy one. At one point i already made a decision not to collect these. But here i am.

As you said, it is difficult to collect all the different version: so, I think the SOUL PREACHER is missing. I have one, writed in brown, but I think there’s an older version writed in black.
I began my love/hate relationship with EHX just a few years ago. One of my favorite pedals is the memory boy, as I can get some very interesting sounds from it. When the satisfaction pedal first came out I got one hoping it was really going to sound like my old vox pedal from the ’60s but alas, it was a disappointment. However that was before I discovered the East River drive pedal which when put in front of the satisfaction pedal, gives me better satisfaction. And, when the second satisfaction pedal came out it quickly went to half price so I got one new for less than 50 bucks and I like that one a lot.
I am a big fan of The next step pedals especially the wah and slammi pedals. Plus I have the mel-9 pedal, mono synth pedal, one of the organ pedals and too many other EHXs to mention… One of my most favorite pedals is the mel-9 pedal which I can get endless guitar sustain with!
Thanks again for having this page I really enjoy it!
